John McCain Vows To Follow Bill Ayers To The Gates Of Hyde Park

Posted: Four minutes ago, but the CIA is working to verify its authenticity

CHICAGO -- In an effort to turn up the rhetorical heat on his opponent with just 22 days remaining until Election Day, Sen. John McCain has again brought up the fact that Sen. Barack Obama attended a fund-raiser in the mid-1990s at the home of 1960s radical William Ayers, who lives in a remote cave in the lawless province of Hyde Park on Chicago's South Side.

"My friends, on the subject of William Ayers: He's responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans -- and by thousands, I mean zero," McCain said. "In addition, he is now orchestrating boring lectures for UIC education majors and drinking Chablis with other terrorist professors. He is a dangerous man, and we will do whatever is necessary. We will track him down. We will drop his class and bring him to justice. We will follow William Ayers to the gates of Hyde Park or UIC's Education, Performing Arts and Social Work Lab, where Prof. Ayers holds office hours every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 1 and 2:30 p.m. That's a promise, my friends."

Last week, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin first resurrected the guilt-by-association issue by accusing Ayers of training terrorists in the somewhat hilly suburban Chicago border region known as Aurora Bora, which, on a clear day, can be seen all the way from Winnetka.

"Actually, I was teaching a class at the county extension," Ayers responded via a handwritten note sent to FAP through a series of terrorist-by-association couriers, including the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, and a guy named Steve who is fulfilling his work study in the UIC mail room. "She means Aurora, right?"

"I don't even like Chablis," he added.
